Teen Mysteries & Immersive Quests
Teenagers have high standards - too old for children’s parties but too young for grown-up events.
Our immersive quests and murder mysteries are created to meet them where they are - intelligent, social, curious and ready for real challenge.
At Genome Theatre, we specialise in bespoke murder mysteries and immersive quest experiences designed specifically for teens, combining live actors, interactive storytelling and challenge-based play that feels cinematic, clever and genuinely engaging.
Designed With Teenagers in Mind
Example Teen Quest Scenarios
The Case of the Missing Tiramisu
A celebrated chef’s signature dessert has vanished just before service - and one of the teens is suspected of stealing the recipe. Working in teams, participants must follow clues, interrogate suspects and piece together the truth before time runs out.
The Secret Society
An exclusive group has been meeting in secret, and something has gone wrong. Teens must decode messages, uncover hidden alliances and decide who can be trusted.
A Crime Out of Time
A mystery rooted in the past, where teens uncover clues left behind decades ago and race to solve a crime before history repeats itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Each event is carefully structured and fully guided by our actors. A typical flow might include:
A dramatic introduction setting up the story
Interactive scenes led by professional actors
Clue-finding, puzzles or investigations in teams
Interrogation or challenge phases
A final reveal or resolution
The experience can be standalone or fitted around food, breaks or venue logistics. We handle pacing, transitions and energy throughout.
-
Yes. “Teen” covers a wide age range, so we adjust tone, complexity and atmosphere accordingly.
For younger teens (around 11–13), experiences tend to be adventurous, playful and puzzle-led.
For older teens (15–17), mysteries can feel darker, more cinematic or thriller-inspired - without crossing into anything inappropriate.
We always discuss age and preferences in advance to strike the right balance.
-
The ideal group size is usually 8–25 teens, but we can accommodate both smaller and larger groups.
Minimum: 7 participants
Larger groups may require additional actors to ensure everyone stays engaged and involved.
We’ll advise on the best setup for your numbers.
-
While both formats are interactive, they feel quite different:
Teen Mysteries focus on solving a crime. Participants gather clues, interrogate suspects (played by actors or the participants themselves), examine evidence and work together to uncover who did it.
Immersive Quests are more dynamic and movement-led. They often involve puzzle-solving, physical clues, challenges and narrative tasks, similar to an escape room or scavenger hunt - sometimes without a murder at all.
If you’re unsure which format suits your group, we’re happy to advise based on age, group energy and the occasion.
-
Our teen experiences are designed to be exciting, not frightening. There are no jump scares or horror elements unless explicitly requested for older teens. The focus is on intrigue, teamwork and problem-solving rather than fear.
-
Unlike companies that sell pre-written scripts for you to run yourself, Genome Theatre delivers fully immersive, live experiences led by professional actors.
Every teen mystery or quest is custom-written for your group. We often weave in guest personalities, inside jokes, or specific traits so participants feel genuinely part of the story, not just reading lines. Our trained immersive actors lead the experience from start to finish, so there’s no pressure on parents or hosts to perform, organise, or manage the group.
-
Experiences are flexible and can be adapted to:
One large room
Multiple rooms or “zones”
Homes, hired venues or restaurants
You do not need a whole house unless you want a multi-room experience. We’ll guide you on what works best for your space.
-
We’re based in London and perform across Greater London. Travel and venue logistics are factored into the final quote.
-
Most experiences run between 60 minutes and 2 hours, depending on:
Age group
Format (quest vs murder mystery)
Group size
Level of customisation
-
It depends on the experience and what works best for your group.
In some formats, our actors play key characters within the story, interacting directly with the teens as suspects, allies or authority figures. In others, the actor takes on a more facilitator or Game Master role, guiding the group through the experience while the teens themselves become the central characters in the narrative.
We choose the approach based on the age, group dynamics and type of experience, ensuring the story feels immersive while everything remains smooth, structured and stress-free behind the scenes.
-
