Maxim’s De Paris: A Bespoke Murder Mystery
Where history blurred with fiction
An immersive murder mystery created for a private 30th celebration at the legendary Maxim’s de Paris.
For one extraordinary evening, Genome Theatre transformed Maxim’s de Paris into a cinematic world of glamour, deception, and immersive storytelling. Inspired by the real history of Le Club des Cent — the secretive dining society once linked to Maxim’s — we created a bespoke murder mystery where historical fact merged seamlessly with fiction.
Guests were gradually drawn deeper into the narrative as the evening unfolded around them. Carefully choreographed performances, immersive characters, personalised letters, bespoke newspapers, and hidden clues were woven seamlessly throughout dinner, allowing the story to emerge naturally between courses. Every interaction, visual detail, and reveal was designed to build an atmosphere of elegance, suspicion, and intrigue — blurring the line between guest and character, reality and performance.
As the evening unfolded, Maxim’s itself became part of the mystery — transformed for one night only into a world of Parisian noir, hidden scandal, and unforgettable immersive theatre.
